This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee high-quality and consistent client delivery throughout a designated team of Client Leads and staff focused on Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) by enabling, coaching, and coordinating their activities.
• Take responsibility for the effectiveness of the team across a portfolio of consumer packaged goods clients, rather than solely on individual client results.
• Provide coaching to Client Leads on solution design, client management, delivery methodology, and professional judgment within CPG engagements.
• Assess CPG client engagement strategies for technical risks and complexities, especially concerning trade promotion accounting, inventory, and multi-channel revenue, ensuring alignment with firm standards.
• Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues, CPG-specific technical inquiries, and team capacity concerns.
• Ensure that all team-produced work adheres to Graphite’s quality standards prior to client delivery.
• Conduct formal performance evaluations and ongoing career development discussions with direct reports.
• Identify gaps in CPG accounting capabilities within the team and address them through coaching, targeted training, or resource allocation.
• Distribute workload evenly among Client Leads and adjust resources to manage peak demands, seasonal CPG cycles, and coverage risks.
• Maintain a deliberately limited personal client portfolio focused on CPG.
• Collaborate with Standards and Technology teams to convert firm-wide standards into actionable, CPG-ready implementations within your team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is mandatory; CPA certification is required.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience is essential, including a minimum of 2 years in a client lead, managerial, or team leadership position; experience in public accounting (Manager level) or outsourced accounting leadership is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in CPG accounting is a firm requirement. Candidates must be able to discuss trade promotion accounting, inventory reconciliation, landed costs, and multi-channel COGS in a CPG context specifically.
• Familiarity with CPG-specific platforms and operational systems, including QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Cin7, Shopify, and 3PL management systems, is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP with practical experience navigating accounting complexities specific to startups: SAFEs, convertible instruments, ASC 606, equity compensation, and more.
• Demonstrated capability to simultaneously manage a team and a client portfolio without compromising quality for either.
• Strong coaching and feedback abilities — you have nurtured junior accounting professionals before and take this responsibility seriously.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; possess an executive presence in client-facing scenarios.
• Experience in a remote professional services setting is strongly preferred.
• Competitive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, with 100% of the employee's health insurance premium covered by the company.
• Company-funded Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance.
• Generous Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO), 11 Paid Company Holidays, and comprehensive Paid Parental Leave.
• Fully remote role with company-provided technology equipment and a $250 technology stipend to enhance your home office setup.
• 401k plan with a company matching contribution.
