This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee tax compliance and strategic tax planning for the organization.
• Prepare federal and state income and franchise tax returns, including estimated payments and extension calculations.
• Review financial data for Schedule M computations, state adjustments, and apportionment schedules.
• Generate annual 1099 IRS compliance documents and work with accounting to maintain W-9 and necessary tax forms.
• Create documentation for the income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and the yearly Research & Development Tax Credit.
• Assist management during tax audits involving external auditors, tax consultants, and government entities.
• Investigate federal, state, and local tax legislation and keep abreast of any changes in regulations.
• Aid in tax journal entry preparation.
• Communicate with tax authorities to resolve any tax-related notices.
• Document essential controls to meet the internal control standards of the tax department.
• Manage the BNA fixed asset depreciation tax software.
• A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that meets the necessary qualifications.
• At least 5 years of experience in federal and multi-state corporate income tax in a corporate tax environment or similar experience at a major accounting firm.
• Proficiency in OneSource or comparable tax compliance software.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Taxation (MBT) is required.
• Familiarity with FASB ASC 740 and the accounting principles associated with income taxes.
• Knowledge of OneSource/Thomson Reuters income tax compliance software.
• Understanding of GAAP accounting as well as tax accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, analytical, research, and presentation skills.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
