Senior Accountant, Crypto Finance – Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute the monthly closing procedures for multiple entities in QuickBooks Online, which includes bank and exchange reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany due to/due from tie-outs, and eliminations for the consolidated package.

• Manage crypto subledgers by importing and validating exchange and on-chain transaction data, as well as reconciling balances with source data.

• Reconcile trading and liquidity activities across centralized exchange (CEX) accounts, perpetual venues like Hyperliquid, and DeFi liquidity provider positions on Solana and EVM chains.

• Generate Profit and Loss statements and rollforward schedules.

• Establish and maintain charts of accounts for new entities and business lines.

• Create monthly retainer and revenue share invoices while managing Excel billing trackers.

• Assist with entity structuring, intercompany loans, capital contributions and distributions, as well as accounting for related party transactions.

• Contribute to the preparation of annual filings and tax workpapers, including BVI financial returns and federal tax memoranda.

• Compile Know Your Business (KYB) packages, member and manager registers, and documentation for banks, brokers, and institutional partners.

• Aid in the maintenance of AML/OFAC program documentation and coordinate responses to regulatory and law enforcement records requests.

• Support HR and payroll operations in Rippling, which includes setting up deductions, correcting payroll issues, and tracking contractors.

• Develop and maintain Excel and Google Sheets models, such as amortization schedules, loan workbooks, portfolio trackers, and deal models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ideally, 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in the crypto or digital assets sector.

• CPA certification, or currently pursuing it.

• Knowledge of digital asset accounting, encompassing wallets, token transfers, swaps, and perpetuals.

• Practical understanding of DeFi, including liquidity pools, automated market makers (AMMs), lending protocols, staking, and their accounting treatment.

• Direct experience with QuickBooks Online and at least one crypto subledger.

• Proficient in Excel, including skills in INDEX/MATCH, dropdown-driven models, and reconciliations.

• Familiarity with multi-entity and intercompany accounting, including related party considerations under GAAP.

• Ability to make sound judgments on escalation and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Excellent organizational skills and capability to manage multiple priorities.

• Nice to have: experience with crypto subledger platforms like TRES, Koinly, and Breezing.

• Nice to have: experience with entity structuring, intercompany arrangements, and offshore entities.

• Nice to have: knowledge of BVI or other offshore entity reporting requirements.

• Nice to have: scripting skills in Python or Apps Script.

• Nice to have: experience with Rippling or another EOR/payroll platform.
