Senior Accountant – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, ensuring that all transactional data is accurate, complete, timely, and adheres to U.S. GAAP standards.

• Oversee, document, and reconcile monthly revenue transactions in NetSuite for various entities through journal entries and invoices.

• Utilize knowledge of ASC 606 and SOX 404 in revenue recognition and invoicing documentation.

• Document cost of goods sold and capitalized inbound freight within NetSuite.

• Collaborate with operational teams to sustain, analyze, and reconcile inventory in company warehouses and third-party logistics providers.

• Record and reconcile Accounts Receivable and inventory-related Accounts Payable transactions, which include invoicing, payments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Document, expense, reconcile, and uphold monthly and quarterly accruals.

• Assist in the management and reconciliation of AR and inventory sub-ledgers in NetSuite.

• Manage AR aging and associated follow-up processes.

• Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for the global Finance team.

• Aid in the development, enhancement, and upkeep of the NetSuite ERP environment.

• Support year-end audit requests and associated documentation.

• Enhance expense reimbursement and corporate credit card procedures utilizing Expensify and corporate T&E policies.

• Identify and implement enhancements in accounting processes, controls, reporting, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate across Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other departments.

• Assist with additional accounting, finance, and operational projects as business needs change.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience is essential.

• At least 1 year of experience in Revenue Accounting is required.

• Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition is necessary.

• Cost Accounting experience is highly preferred.

• CPA or CMA designation is preferred.

• Previous experience with Oracle/NetSuite ERP is a plus.

• Experience with Expensify is advantageous.

• Background in retail, e-commerce, consumer products, or manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including skills in VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, and similar functions.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail with the capability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment.

• Resourceful, analytical, and able to navigate through ambiguity.

• Proven track record of identifying and executing process improvements.

• Strong organizational skills, capable of managing competing priorities as business needs evolve.

• A collaborative mindset with a desire to be a valued business partner across departments.
