Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage PPE accounting, including policies for capitalization, asset disposals, impairment evaluations, and the maintenance of the fixed asset register.

• Analyze complex transactions, assess contracts, and evaluate financing arrangements to determine appropriate accounting treatment.

• Enhance accrual methodologies and implement month-end cut-off procedures.

• Minimize manual adjustments noted during the closing process.

• Set standards for balance sheet reconciliation and improve review controls.

• Encourage clear ownership across critical accounts.

• Create audit schedules, reports, and technical documentation for both management and external auditors.

• Collaborate in the software migration by documenting processes, pinpointing control gaps, redesigning workflows, and outlining accounting requirements.

• Evaluate financial risks, investigate discrepancies, and strengthen internal controls to mitigate errors and fraud.

• Work alongside leadership to align daily accounting functions with overarching financial strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.

• Required experience with QuickBooks Online.

• Familiarity with NetSuite is preferred.

• Experience with sophisticated accounting systems and software migrations.

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Auditor, or Assistant Controller.

• In-depth, practical knowledge of US GAAP and complex capitalization policies.

• Exceptional analytical abilities and the capacity to apply high-level accounting judgment.

• Strong organizational capabilities and a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to work autonomously, manage changing timelines, and excel in a fully remote setting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to educate staff on policies and effectively present clear findings to external auditors and leadership.
