Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee wholesale accounting functions, encompassing accounts receivable, customer payments, deductions, chargebacks, and associated reconciliations.

• Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to investigate and rectify pricing discrepancies, fulfillment challenges, and unresolved customer balances.

• Work alongside Operations and Systems to enhance EDI processes and accurately record wholesale transactions in NetSuite.

• Handle accounting operations for Shopify and Amazon Seller Central, including sales, refunds, discounts, indirect taxes, and related transactions.

• Reconcile payment settlements, processing fees, and clearing accounts.

• Lead month-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Supervise offshore accounting team members by assigning tasks, reviewing outputs, offering feedback, and ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards.

• Coordinate accounting functions across onshore and offshore teams.

• Aid in cash flow forecasting by supplying financial data to FP&A and Treasury.

• Examine reconciliation discrepancies, pinpoint root causes, and implement corrective measures.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data accuracy, streamline workflows, and fortify accounting processes.

• Identify opportunities for automation and support process and system enhancements.

• Maintain and refine accounting procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls.

• Assist with external audits, financial reporting, and other accounting endeavors.

• Undertake additional accounting responsibilities and special projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end closing procedures.

• Practical experience in preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and addressing complex accounting discrepancies.

• Experience in supervising, reviewing, or coordinating the work of junior accountants or offshore team members.

• Strong organizational and delegation abilities, with a capacity to provide clear instructions, effectively review work, and manage competing priorities.

• Proficient Excel skills, including knowledge of pivot tables, lookups, and managing large datasets.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to autonomously manage responsibilities, prioritize conflicting deadlines, and resolve issues to completion.

• Outstanding communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• A proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach with a readiness to embrace new challenges in a dynamic environment.

• A strong sense of ownership and commitment to continuous improvement.

• CPA or CPA candidate (preferred).

• Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system (preferred).

• Background in wholesale, e-commerce, consumer products, or high-volume transaction settings (preferred).

• Familiarity with SPS Commerce or similar EDI platforms (preferred).

• Knowledge of Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, or comparable e-commerce platforms (preferred).

• Experience with accounting automation, system integrations, or process enhancement initiatives (preferred).

• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools or data analytics to optimize accounting workflows (preferred).
