This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Oversee month-end closing procedures, which include the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Analyze balance sheet and income statement activities, investigate discrepancies, and deliver financial insights.

• Generate and assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger operations and financial records.

• Act as a finance partner to internal departments, addressing inquiries and providing financial assistance.

• Organize external audit processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.

• Assist in federal and state tax compliance efforts and review necessary documentation.

• Enhance and maintain accounting workflows, reports, and ERP system templates.

• Support inventory, insurance, and other financial reporting demands.

• Mentor and guide junior accounting personnel.

• Recognize opportunities for process automation and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• More than 5 years of accounting experience.

• Candidates holding a CPA with less experience will also be considered.

• Experience in the retail industry is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.

• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.

• Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor and support junior staff.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-motivated with a focus on process improvement and an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
