This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Execute daily accounting operations, including monthly journal entries and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee the company purchasing card system, which involves setting up and training new users.
• File the annual Florida Unclaimed Property tax return.
• Support annual audits and review the audited financial statements.
• Assist the Accounting Manager in delivering financial statements to Management and the Board.
• Examine and import patient claims files into the organization’s general ledger system.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, financial supplemental schedules, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards for designated general ledger accounts.
• Verify cash manager donor payment transactions and Development journal entries for precision.
• Collaborate with Development staff to ensure accurate coding.
• Analyze prepaid invoices and supporting documentation, updating the corresponding prepaid worksheet.
• Collect and prepare necessary data for annual Medicare cost reports.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MBA or CPA is preferred; however, both can be substituted by experience under a CPA or a degreed Accountant.
• A minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
• At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with general ledger and related subsystems.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Skilled in 10-key by touch.
• Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, organizational, and computer skills.
• Knowledgeable and competent in accounting and analysis.
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to function under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
• Successfully complete competency requirements for the position.
• Agree to drug and/or alcohol testing following a conditional offer of employment.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
• Verification of eligibility through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse after a conditional offer and continuous eligibility.
• Compensation pay range of $67,976.53 - $106,213.33.
