This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +30 more states.
• Take ownership of assigned general ledger accounting tasks, which include preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining supporting documentation, and investigating reconciling items.
• Assist in the monthly closing process by accurately completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, ensuring that all documentation supports GAAP accounting standards.
• Manage banking administration duties, such as downloading bank statements, reconciling bank activities, maintaining banking records, and overseeing bank account administration.
• Initiate domestic and international wire transfers, ACH payments, and vendor payments while ensuring compliance with necessary approvals and controls.
• Aid in cash forecasting by estimating the timing of expected payments for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Oversee accounting tools and workflows, including corporate credit cards, Expensify, Bill.com, and related account administration tasks.
• Provide backup assistance for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required, including U.S. government invoicing portal submissions and support for onboarding new customers and vendors.
• Help with external audit and tax requests by preparing schedules, gathering necessary support, organizing documentation, and assisting in resolving tax notices or information requests.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, leverage technology, enhance documentation, and increase efficiency across accounting workflows.
• Tackle unfamiliar issues by researching options, utilizing available resources, asking targeted questions as needed, and ensuring resolution with sound judgment.
• Undertake other accounting and finance projects as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting or similar business setting.
• Proven experience in preparing journal entries, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing activities.
• Strong grasp of core accounting principles and the flow of transactions through the general ledger.
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, sorting/filtering, pivot tables, and systematic data review.
• Comfortable with learning new technologies and navigating multiple business systems, portals, and accounting tools.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment with limited daily supervision.
• Resourceful problem-solving skills, including the ability to research issues, assess options, and provide practical recommendations before escalation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, accountability, and follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to document work, articulate issues, and ask questions appropriately.
• Must reside on the U.S. East Coast or be able to consistently work during East Coast business hours.
