This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +30 more states.
• Take ownership of designated general ledger accounting tasks, which include preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining supporting documentation, and investigating reconciling items.
• Assist in the monthly close process by executing assigned closing tasks with accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate documentation to support GAAP accounting.
• Carry out banking administration duties such as downloading bank statements, reconciling bank activities, maintaining banking documentation, and facilitating bank account management.
• Initiate domestic and international wire transfers, ACH payments, and vendor payments while ensuring compliance with necessary approvals and controls.
• Aid in cash forecasting by estimating expected payment timings for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Manage accounting tools and workflows, including corporate credit cards, Expensify, Bill.com, and related account administration.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as necessary, including U.S. government invoicing portal submissions and onboarding new customers and vendors.
• Assist with external audits and tax inquiries by preparing schedules, collecting support, organizing documentation, and helping to resolve tax notices or information requests.
• Spot opportunities to enhance processes, utilize technology, strengthen documentation, and boost efficiency across accounting workflows.
• Tackle unfamiliar issues by researching options, utilizing available resources, asking focused questions when necessary, and following through to resolution with sound judgment.
• Undertake other accounting and finance projects as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting or similar business environment.
• Proven experience in preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities.
• Strong grasp of core accounting principles and the flow of transactions through the general ledger.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, sorting/filtering, pivot tables, and organized data review.
• Comfortable with learning new technologies and navigating multiple business systems, portals, and accounting tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities effectively, and exercise sound judgment with minimal daily supervision.
• Resourceful problem-solving skills, including the capability to research issues, evaluate options, and provide practical recommendations before escalating.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, accountability, and follow-through.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work, articulate issues, and ask questions appropriately.
• Must reside on the U.S. East Coast or be able to consistently work East Coast business hours.
