Senior 3D Generalist Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop game-ready artwork for modular environments, props, set dressing, and characters/creatures.

• Grasp and apply the project's artistic style and philosophy while following high-level guidance.

• Design modular environments utilizing a grid system.

• Generate assets quickly by emphasizing essential components over non-essential details.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

• Engage in playtests and contribute to enhancing the game experience beyond just art.

• Identify risks and limitations early on, adjusting efforts as necessary.

• Proactively advance the project and sustain momentum even in the face of obstacles.

• Import, set up, and implement assets within Unreal Engine.

• Configure materials, prefabs, folders, naming conventions, and related asset setups.

• Troubleshoot and resolve materials, collision issues, and general art bugs in-engine.

• Recognize inefficiencies and suggest improved solutions.

• Optimize assets and scenes while preserving the overall vision of the game.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience; capable of working independently under high-level guidance and taking ownership of specific responsibilities.

• Extensive artistic and technical expertise across environments, props, and characters/creatures.

• Proficient in Unreal Engine, including asset implementation and resolving art-related bugs.

• Ability to prioritize efficiency and swift execution.

• Project-oriented mindset that prioritizes player experience over artistic accolades or portfolio pieces.

• General knowledge of optimization and performance considerations for single-player and online multiplayer games from an artistic standpoint.

• Bonus skills: rigging, VFX, UI, technical art, and concept art.

• Must be based in the UK or Europe.
