Security Technical Counselor, Cybersecurity & AI Advisory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as a trusted advisor for a designated portfolio of around 20 member organizations.

• Establish enduring relationships with CIOs, CISOs, and senior technology leaders.

• Offer strategic advice on technology, operations, cybersecurity, risk management, governance, and organizational issues.

• Provide advisory services through both virtual and in-person interactions.

• Assist members in identifying priorities, creating roadmaps, reducing risk, and enhancing business results.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure member success, retention, and growth.

• Engage in account planning and initiatives aimed at member success.

• Influence the creation of research, diagnostics, workshops, and advisory services.

• Share knowledge through conferences, keynote speaking opportunities, webinars, roundtables, and industry events.

• Work alongside experienced peers and subject matter experts.

• Guide technology leadership by providing practical advice and real-world insights.

• Travel for client engagements, industry conferences, speaking opportunities, and corporate events.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 15 years of progressive experience in Information Technology.

• Leadership experience in Infrastructure, Security, Operations, Risk, Compliance, or related technology fields.

• Experience in leading technology functions at the Director, Senior Director, Vice President, CIO, CISO, or equivalent level.

• Proven success in advising executive stakeholders and influencing strategic technology decisions.

• Ability to convert complex business and technology challenges into practical, actionable solutions.

• Experience in building and sustaining trusted relationships with executive-level stakeholders.

• Demonstrated leadership in technology strategy and governance, infrastructure and cloud services, IT operations and service management, cybersecurity and information security, risk/compliance/privacy, enterprise architecture and modernization, business continuity and resilience, or DevOps and operational excellence.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 25% across Canada and the United States, with occasional international travel.

• Experience as a public speaker, conference presenter, or recognized industry thought leader is preferred.

• A combination of post-secondary education, industry certifications, professional accreditations, and practical leadership experience will be evaluated.
