
Security Technical Account Manager – Project Lightwell

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a liaison between Red Hat Product Security and partners on behalf of customers.
• Serve as an intermediary between customers’ operations and their security teams, offering guidance on general and industry-specific security frameworks.
• Provide analytical support for routine, proactive security monitoring and address any issues that arise in Red Hat software.
• Offer analytical assistance regarding security implications from planned changes to Red Hat software on critical, sensitive systems, along with timely diagnostic and remediation advice for ongoing security issues.
• Mentor security and operations personnel on security attributes and best practices related to Red Hat software.
• Facilitate customer utilization of the Project Lightwell clearinghouse for coordinating scanning, triage, patching, and backporting.
• Collaborate with Red Hat Consulting to guide the acceleration of the software development lifecycle and OS patching at scale, ensuring a reliable software supply chain.
• Cultivate and enhance customer relationships through attentive, relationship-focused support.
• Establish a sense of trust with customers and act as their advocate within Red Hat.
• Conduct technical reviews and share knowledge to identify and mitigate potential issues.
• Develop an understanding of customers’ technical infrastructures, environments, hardware, and offerings.
• Create customer engagement plans and maintain up-to-date documentation on customer environments.
• Support enterprise customers in implementing automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions.
• Conduct initial or secondary investigations and respond to support requests via online channels and phone.
• Collaborate closely with Red Hat's engineering, product management, and technical support teams to debug, test, and resolve issues.
• Regularly contribute to the Red Hat knowledge base and share best practices with colleagues.
• Participate in internal projects and initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert and mentor for specific technical or process areas.
• Provide key portfolio updates and assist customers in successfully implementing upgrades.
• Manage customer use cases and ensure clear and concise case documentation.
• Work with Red Hat's solutions engineering teams to develop solution patterns based on customer interactions and personal experience to facilitate platform adoption.
• Engage with Red Hat's field teams, customers, and partners to ensure a positive cloud technology experience and promote long-term enterprise success.
• Address complex problems innovatively, serving as a subject matter expert in Security and the Red Hat portfolio.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related technical field.
• Red Hat Certified: RHCE (RHCA certification preferred).
• Preferred security certifications include CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security +, (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), and Certified Ethical Hacker.
• Proven experience in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives.
• Practical knowledge and experience in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams.
• Over 10 years of experience in a security role, customer support, development, engineering, or quality assurance (QA) organization.
• Ability to cultivate and expand existing enterprise customer relationships through proactive, relationship-centered support.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of conveying complex information to customers clearly and succinctly.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and strategic business drivers.
• Proficient in managing multiple issues and projects with a keen focus on detail.
• Knowledge or experience in application development and release engineering.
• Solid understanding of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) concepts.
• Familiarity with or working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
• Quick learner of new technologies, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, and microservices on container platforms.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.
• Capability to travel internationally.
