This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze alert data to identify malicious activities within the Rapid7 environment.
• Lead and manage investigations that involve evidence gathering, analysis, determining intrusion vectors, and identifying malicious actions.
• Develop comprehensive Incident Reports that document technical analyses, findings, and suggested remediation steps.
• Perform rotational threat hunting activities to proactively discover unknown threats.
• Support Incident Response efforts by examining forensic artifacts to trace threat actor movements.
• Deliver high-quality threat detection services to ensure the security of the organization.
• Investigate current attack methodologies to improve threat detection capabilities.
• Provide ongoing technical feedback to the Rapid7 product development teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and technical creativity.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Practical experience with SIEM tools, including the Rapid7 command platform or Splunk.
• Background in Security Operations Center functions, covering incident response, threat hunting, and forensic investigations.
• Capacity to identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement sustainable solutions.
• Skills in making timely decisions during investigations.
• Responsibility for incident analyses, findings, and tracking remediation efforts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with security teams and product developers.
