Security Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Triage, investigate, and respond to alerts generated by the Huntress platform.

• Conduct a tactical review of EDR telemetry, log sources, and forensic artifacts to identify the root cause of attacks and suggest remediation strategies.

• Execute tactical malware analysis during the investigation and triage of alerts.

• Examine suspicious activities within Microsoft M365 and provide remediation measures.

• Support the Product Support team with escalations related to threat issues and SOC-relevant inquiries.

• Play a role in the creation and fine-tuning of detection engineering.

• Engage in projects that enhance outcomes for both analysts and partners.

• Collaborate within a mentored Security Operations Center team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a SOC or Digital Forensics (DFIR) role.

• Proven experience with Windows, Linux, and MacOS as potential attack surfaces.

• Demonstrated familiarity with various Threat Actor tools and techniques, including the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, PowerShell and Command Prompt Terminals, WMIC, Scheduled Tasks, SCM, Windows Domain and host Enumeration Techniques, Basic Lateral Movement Techniques, Basic Persistence Mechanisms, Basic Defense Evasion Techniques, and other offensive/Red Team TTPs.

• Solid understanding of static and dynamic malware analysis concepts.

• Proficient in Windows Administration or Enterprise Domain Administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Domain Trusts.

• Comprehensive knowledge of core networking concepts such as common ports/protocols, NAT, Public/Private IPs, and VLANs.

• Familiarity with web technologies and concepts, including web servers/applications and the OWASP Top 10.

• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex events to less technical audiences.

• Ability to prioritize and address customer needs and concerns effectively.

• A strong curiosity and genuine enthusiasm for learning.
