This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver security leadership throughout the duration of the contract
• Take ownership of security policies, procedures, planning, evaluation, and technology
• Monitor, address, and report on current and emerging threats and trends to the DIR
• Collaborate with the Technical Director and DIR to tackle existing and future threats
• Ensure compliance oversight for TX-RAMP Level 2, TAC 202, CJIS, IRS Publication 1075, and MARS-E
• Manage the annual SOC 2 Type 2 audit process
• Oversee SOC 2 Type 2 corrective action plans
• Track, report, and rectify security incidents as per TAC Chapter 202
• Formulate the annual security plan
• Align security activities with GRC processes
• Supervise vulnerability scanning activities
• Conduct quarterly Master Security Baseline Configuration Health Checks
• Provide security governance and accountability in a complex multi-vendor government IT landscape
• Collaborate with technical and service delivery leadership on security risks, remediation, compliance, and emerging threats
• A minimum of 10 years of experience, which may include supervisory or lead roles
• Over 8 years of cybersecurity leadership experience within government IT contracts
• Required compliance experience with TX-RAMP Level 2 or FedRAMP Moderate equivalent
• Proven experience with TAC Chapter 202 and Texas state cybersecurity requirements
• Familiarity with CJIS Security Policy compliance, including personnel management and data security
• Experience in managing SOC 2 Type 2 audits and corrective actions
• Demonstrated expertise in zero-trust architecture design and implementation
• Background in security incident response, threat hunting, and SIEM management
• Experience working within multi-vendor government IT environments
• Strong background in cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance, architecture, and security operations
• Ability to effectively communicate security risks, incidents, remediation activities, and compliance status to senior government and technical stakeholders
• CISSP certification; CISM is acceptable in place of CISSP
• CJIS Security Addendum compliance certification or equivalent experience
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must reside in the Austin, TX metropolitan area or San Angelo, TX, or be willing to relocate to the Austin, TX metropolitan area
• Employees may be eligible for overtime pay
