This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Oversee and enhance the organization's vulnerability management initiative
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize vulnerabilities across applications, networks, endpoints, cloud infrastructures, and enterprise systems
• Work in partnership with ISSOs and Controls Assessors to gather RMF artifacts and verify the effectiveness of security controls
• Review, provide guidance on, and improve security Control Statements
• Ensure adherence to NIST 800-53, FISMA, and SOX standards
• Execute best practices for vulnerability management, patching, configuration hardening, and risk reduction
• Aid in incident response related to exploited vulnerabilities
• Develop repeatable workflows that support ATO readiness for newly introduced systems
• Convey risk and suggest mitigation strategies
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of security processes and controls
• 4–6 years of experience in vulnerability management or a similar information security position
• Advanced proficiency in Tenable Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7, or OpenVAS
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability scanning, assessment, and risk prioritization
• Familiarity with CVSS, NIST 800-53, and OWASP Top 10
• Understanding of OS-level vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux, and macOS
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routers, and switches
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and cloud-native policies
• Experienced in configuring and working with Identity Providers (IdP)
• Familiarity with patch management tools and processes
• Basic understanding of FISMA and SOX regulations
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
• Ability to evaluate vulnerabilities, identify risks, and assist in incident response
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
