Security Engineer – SOAR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of SOAR methodologies, intellectual property, and associated materials.

• Create, develop, and sustain SOAR playbooks and automation workflows.

• Investigate and propose automation opportunities within security operations.

• Improve detection rules and use case logic across security tools, particularly SOAR.

• Set up, refine, and optimize security tools in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Discover innovative solutions and process improvements for client security settings.

• Advise on, design, build, and implement secure cloud/hybrid solutions in accordance with ACSC requirements for PROTECTED implementations.

• Evaluate security requirements and align solutions with government frameworks, including PSPF and ISM.

• Assist in the secure and compliant storage of sensitive and security-classified materials.

• Keep documentation updated for security procedures, configuration baselines, and operational guidelines.

• Engage in professional development and remain informed about cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices.

• Strengthen team capabilities through quality, secure cloud/hybrid solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity engineering, covering infrastructure, network, endpoint, and cloud security.

• Extensive experience in implementing SOAR to decrease recurring tickets; FortiSOAR is preferred.

• Proven track record in deploying cloud and hybrid security solutions.

• Strong consulting and engagement abilities, with the capacity to present cybersecurity perspectives to varied audiences.

• Recent experience in security design, architecture, and implementation for Microsoft cloud services.

• Experience in applying the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM) to cloud or hybrid solutions.

• Familiarity with Australian cyber regulations and compliance standards, including Essential Eight, SOCI, NIST, and ISM.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

• Experience in integrating security into the DevOps lifecycle.

• A valid Vulnerable People/Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check are mandatory.

• Australian citizenship and an active NV1 security clearance are highly valued.
