Security Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, management, and enhancement of security and compliance services

• Perform AWS security assessments to ensure adherence to security best practices

• Suggest security enhancements and collaborate with production support teams for implementation in AWS

• Collaborate with the Lead Security Architect to rectify issues in custom-built security tool bots

• Execute comprehensive security evaluations of application code

• Work closely with developers to advocate for secure coding practices from the beginning and to resolve issues during coding and testing

• Collaborate with internal product teams to enforce secure-by-default design principles

• Engage in an on-call rotation to ensure system availability for customers 24/7

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

• Over 5 years of experience in product or application security along with relevant software engineering roles

• Familiarity with AWS services such as GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM, Security Groups, CloudFront, CloudFormation, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS

• Proficient in a programming language like Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or TypeScript

• Strong skills in testing methodologies and documentation

• Expertise in security best practices

• Ability to rapidly make accurate risk evaluations that prioritize the overall benefit to the organization

• Capacity to work remotely from any location in Germany

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including potential immediate responses outside of standard working hours and on weekends
