Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for the vulnerability management lifecycle, encompassing discovery, risk assessment, remediation tracking, and verification.

• Lead efforts to minimize security risks within a cloud-native AWS environment.

• Collaborate closely with DevSecOps and engineering teams.

• Manage and optimize SIEM platforms in a production setting.

• Differentiate genuine security threats from noise and false positives.

• Employ scripting to automate security operations and integrate security tools.

• Coordinate code-fix remediation efforts with development teams.

• Take charge of security incident investigations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in security engineering, system administration, or similar roles.

• Practical, production-level AWS security experience in a fully cloud-native environment.

• Comprehensive ownership of the vulnerability management lifecycle.

• Demonstrated track record of leading security incident investigations.

• Validated experience in managing and fine-tuning a production SIEM solution.

• Proficient scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Strong grasp of network security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and VPNs.

• Hands-on experience with endpoint security tools and monitoring solutions.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think from an attacker's perspective.

• Availability to work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CDT/CST.
