Associate, Cybersecurity – Data Privacy Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support the defense of clients in privacy and data breach class actions, individual privacy lawsuits, technology errors and omissions cases, and other intricate commercial litigation matters.

• Perform legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, along with other essential litigation documents.

• Engage in discovery processes, depositions, hearings, mediations, and preparation for trials.

• Evaluate complex legal and factual issues related to privacy laws, cybersecurity incidents, and new legal developments.

• Work collaboratively with partners, senior attorneys, and team members to formulate litigation strategies aimed at achieving positive outcomes for clients.

• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and internal litigation teams.

• Stay updated on changes in privacy and cybersecurity law, trends in litigation, and regulatory updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in litigation.

• Ideally, experience in complex commercial litigation, class action defense, privacy litigation, or disputes related to cybersecurity.

• Proficient legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy capabilities.

• Experience with substantive motion practice and written discovery processes.

• Familiarity with federal and state privacy laws, such as CCPA/CPRA, BIPA, VPPA, and similar legislation is preferred but not mandatory.

• Outstanding academic credentials and a record of professional success.

• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to handle multiple cases and meet competing deadlines.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active legal license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• Active membership in the California State Bar is preferred but not essential.

• Only candidates with a J.D. and active licensure in at least one U.S. jurisdiction will be considered.
