Security Consulting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Lead, oversee, and provide reports on security service engagements for major Cisco clients.

• Collaborate with both technical and management teams of customers.

• Deliver security solutions autonomously while guiding engineers across various technical areas.

• Design, document, validate, pilot, deploy, and automate Cisco Security Solutions.

• Offer ongoing support to assist customers in maximizing the value of deployed solutions.

• Provide in-depth technical expertise on Cisco security technologies, communicating architectural insights and comprehensive security solutions.

• Assess and present alternative designs, influencing decisions and outcomes.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose root causes, and support customers in recovering from technical and security challenges.

• Engage in global collaboration within the security practice and across other Cisco divisions.

• Aid in the creation and adherence to standards, templates, methodologies, best practices, and delivery frameworks.

• Establish trusted-advisor relationships and identify potential future engagement opportunities.

• Assist Account Teams with customer proposals and statements of work by providing scope and effort details.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT consulting, and systems integration within large enterprise environments.

• Extensive technical knowledge in Cisco Secure Firewall / ASA and enterprise firewall deployments in both cloud and on-premises settings.

• Profound technical expertise in VPN technologies and enterprise VPN deployments, including Cisco AnyConnect and Secure Client.

• Technical proficiency with Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, and other SASE solutions.

• Strong technical understanding of Cisco ISE and TrustSec; hands-on experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with Cloud Security, Network Visibility, and Zero Trust Segmentation solutions.

• Capability to deliver automation artifacts using common automation frameworks, programming languages, Generative AI systems, and Cisco APIs.

• Experience in preparing, planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, automating, and managing network security solutions.

• Robust understanding of secure design principles, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, adaptability, scalability, dependability, and modularity.

• Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical staff and executives.

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.

• CCNP Security certification.

• Preferred: expertise in Cisco SNA, Secure Workload, Secure Endpoint, DUO, and Cisco XDR.

• Preferred: experience with routing and switching, infrastructure applications, voice, content networking, wireless, Software Defined Access, and Software Defined WAN.

• Desired certifications include DevNet Associate, CCIE Security, CISSP, SANS GIAC, and NSA IAM.
