Security Consulting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead, oversee, and report on security service engagements at prominent Cisco clients.

• Collaborate with technical and managerial personnel of the customer.

• Deliver security solutions independently and by guiding engineers across various technical disciplines.

• Design, document, validate, pilot, deploy, and automate Cisco Security Solutions.

• Provide ongoing support services to assist customers in maximizing the value of deployed solutions.

• Offer in-depth technical expertise on Cisco security technologies and convey architectural context along with the broader security solution.

• Assess and present alternative designs while influencing outcomes.

• Troubleshoot, determine root causes, and assist customers in recovering from technical and security challenges.

• Engage in global collaboration within the security practice and with other Cisco teams.

• Aid in the creation of and comply with standards, templates, methodologies, best practices, and delivery frameworks.

• Cultivate trusted-advisor relationships with customers and identify prospective engagement opportunities.

• Assist with customer proposals and statements of work by providing scope and effort details to Account Teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT consulting, and systems integration with large enterprises.

• Extensive technical expertise in Cisco Secure Firewall / ASA and enterprise firewall deployments in cloud and on-premises settings.

• Profound technical knowledge of VPN technologies and enterprise VPN implementations both on-premises and in the cloud.

• Experience with Cisco AnyConnect and Secure Client.

• Technical proficiency with Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, and other SASE solutions.

• Strong technical background in Cisco ISE and TrustSec; hands-on experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with Cloud Security, Network Visibility, and Zero Trust Segmentation solutions.

• Capability to deliver automation artifacts using common automation frameworks, programming languages, Generative AI systems, and Cisco APIs.

• Experience in preparing, planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, automating, and operating network security solutions.

• Solid understanding of secure design principles, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, adaptability, scalability, dependability, and modularity.

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both technical staff and executives.

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.

• CCNP Security certification.

• Preferred: expertise in Cisco SNA, Secure Workload, Secure Endpoint, DUO, and Cisco XDR.

• Preferred: experience with routing and switching, infrastructure applications, voice, content networking, wireless, Software Defined Access, and Software Defined WAN.

• Desired certifications include DevNet Associate, CCIE Security, CISSP, SANS GIAC, and NSA IAM.
