Security Assessment and Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Provide expertise in security for Azure-based solutions and cloud environments.

• Assist in the completion of necessary Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) documentation and processes.

• Develop and uphold Document Control Responses.

• Collect, arrange, and document evidence for security controls.

• Prepare and sustain Security Installation Plans (SIPs).

• Conduct security testing activities and record findings in formal test reports.

• Collaborate with project teams, architects, and security stakeholders to ensure adherence to security requirements.

• Support security reviews, assessments, and audits throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Identify and document security risks along with recommendations for remediation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Government of Canada Secret Clearance is mandatory at the time of application.

• Strong understanding and practical experience with the Microsoft Azure platform.

• Experience in implementing and configuring security controls across Azure components and services.

• Proven experience in supporting cloud security compliance and governance initiatives.

• Experience in developing SA&A artifacts, security documentation, and evidence packages.

• Experience in executing and documenting security testing activities.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Government of Canada Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) processes and requirements.

• Preferred: Experience with Government of Canada cloud transformation or modernization initiatives.

• Preferred: Familiarity with GC IT Security Risk Management methodologies and standards.

• Preferred: Experience with Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Key Vault, and Sentinel.

• Preferred: Relevant security certifications such as AZ-500, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.
