Securities Finance Trader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Identify and implement borrowing and lending opportunities across a range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and ETFs, utilizing both manual and automated trading approaches.

• Utilize Python and SQL to enhance daily operations, create analytical tools, and automate decisions based on data.

• Collaborate with teams in Product, Engineering, and Operations to improve data pipelines, trading systems, operational efficiency, and risk management.

• Track outstanding loans, recalls, and rates to maximize risk management and profitability.

• Establish and nurture relationships with borrowers, lenders, custodians, and client partners within the firm.

• Develop and execute operational tasks, product enhancements, and automation tools aimed at optimizing costs, revenue, and workflow.

• Evaluate and manage counterparty, credit, and market risks while keeping up-to-date with market trends and regulatory changes.

• Collaborate with both existing and new securities lending vendors to create product development solutions.

• Assist in the development of automated workflow solutions for securities lending trading and operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• 1-5 years of experience in a technical or trading capacity, preferably with some background in securities lending, short selling, or similar areas.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

• Understanding of core financial instruments (equities, fixed income, ETFs) and general market operations.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.

• High motivation and enthusiasm to learn about securities lending, product development, and advanced trading concepts.
