SecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee and analyze security alerts and incidents

• Execute threat hunting utilizing SIEM, EDR, and cloud security platforms

• Manage the processes of vulnerability scanning, assessment, prioritization, and tracking of remediation

• Create and sustain security monitoring rules and detection logic

• Assist in incident response investigations and forensic activities

• Administer Microsoft Defender XDR, Sentinel, Entra ID, and tools for vulnerability management

• Evaluate and enhance security configurations for both cloud and on-premises systems

• Support assessments of third-party risks and conduct supplier security reviews

• Contribute to compliance activities related to ISO 27001, SOC, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, and others

• Develop automation for security, scripts, and operational procedures

• Provide security awareness guidance and assist business stakeholders

• Oversee disaster recovery plans and coordinate testing efforts

• Support the infrastructure team with firewall, network, and core infrastructure management

• Collaborate closely with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to safeguard organizational assets, data, and services

• Report directly to the SecOps Manager

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in triaging, investigating, and responding to security alerts or incidents

• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Sentinel

• In-depth knowledge of back-office systems

• Solid understanding of network technologies

• Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure equipment both on-premises and in a cloud setting

• Background in vulnerability management

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration

• Knowledge of Windows Server

• Exceptional customer service skills and a professional telephone demeanor

• Capability to perform under tight deadlines
