SecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee and investigate security alerts and incidents

• Execute threat hunting utilizing SIEM, EDR, and cloud security platforms

• Handle vulnerability scanning, assessment, prioritization, and remediation tracking

• Create and sustain security monitoring rules and detection logic

• Assist in incident response investigations and forensic procedures

• Manage Microsoft Defender XDR, Sentinel, Entra ID, and vulnerability management tools

• Evaluate and enhance security configurations across both cloud and on-premises systems

• Facilitate third-party risk assessments and supplier security evaluations

• Support compliance activities related to ISO 27001, SOC, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, and others

• Generate security automation, scripts, and operational protocols

• Provide security awareness guidance and assist business stakeholders

• Oversee disaster recovery plans and organize testing

• Collaborate with the infrastructure team on firewall, network, and core infrastructure management

• Report directly to the SecOps Manager

• Safeguard organizational assets, data, and services while ensuring adherence to security policies, standards, and regulations

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in triaging, investigating, and responding to security alerts or incidents

• Proficiency in Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Sentinel

• In-depth knowledge of back-office systems

• Strong understanding of network technologies

• Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure equipment in both on-premises and cloud environments

• Background in vulnerability management

• Microsoft 365 administration experience

• Familiarity with Windows Server

• Exceptional customer service skills and telephone etiquette

• Capacity to perform under tight deadlines
