Second Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee bridge watch duties while at sea or anchored

• Develop passage plans for each voyage from port to port

• Assist the Master in creating mud maps for designated areas and ensure all control sheets are completed

• Conduct all radio checks as per legal requirements and confirm that all bridge equipment is functioning according to specified standards

• Provide orientation for all new crew members on board the vessel

• Serve as the onboard OH&S representative, responsible for conducting a monthly OH&S meeting

• Collaborate with the Chief Officer to ensure all safety and firefighting equipment is maintained and complies with survey standards

• Regularly communicate with the Expedition Leader and Purser to coordinate the daily program of activities and needs

• Assist with the handling and transportation of guests' luggage to and from the vessel, along with other turnaround tasks as needed

⛳️ Requirements

• One of the following certificates of competency: Deck Watchkeeper (Unlimited) or Chief Mate <3000

• Certificate of Safety Training (CoST) - endorsed by AMSA

• Proficiency in Survival Craft

• Knowledge in Crowd Control & Crisis Management

• Valid International AMSA Medical

• Current First Aid/CPR Certificate

• Experience on passenger ships
