This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Develop and enhance Supabase’s JavaScript and TypeScript SDKs
• Recognize platform capability gaps, advocate for their inclusion, and implement new features
• Address incoming issues and review contributions from external sources in public repositories
• Oversee CI and release automation while managing project scope
• Ensure that generated database types are correctly integrated into client APIs for precise autocomplete and inference
• Provide support for Node, Deno, Bun, browsers, Cloudflare Workers, and React Native/Expo environments
• Manage dual ESM/CJS publishing and ensure accurate type resolution across various module resolution modes
• Create real-time functionalities utilizing WebSocket connections, reconnection, subscriptions, and presence semantics
• Keep SDKs updated with modifications to authentication, real-time features, storage, PostgREST, and edge runtime services
• Draft RFCs, migration guides, release notes, changelogs, and documentation
• Make SDKs comprehensible for AI coding agents
• Proficient in TypeScript, including generics, conditional types, and mapped types
• Experience in authoring or maintaining a published library with a public API and external users
• Background in contributing to open-source projects from a maintainer's perspective
• Familiarity with issue triage, reviewing external pull requests, release automation, changelogs, semantic versioning, and security reports
• Proficient in npm packaging, dual ESM/CJS builds, export maps, and type resolution
• Experience in testing across unit, type-level, and end-to-end tests against a real stack
• Strong written communication skills for design documents, changelogs, and public issue responses
• Ability to work independently: identify, scope, and deliver significant work
• Capable of clearly communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working in asynchronous or globally distributed teams
• Comfortable navigating uncertainty and acting swiftly
