SDET Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the SDET team located in Mexico.

• Collaborate with distributed teams across various time zones to align testing strategies and project objectives.

• Evaluate and design technical testing solutions for intricate user stories, ensuring coverage for integration points.

• Enhance and refactor existing automated regression suites to improve reliability and eliminate flakiness.

• Improve and extend modular automation frameworks to ensure scalability for the broader engineering team.

• Increase API automation coverage for microservices, data integrity, and communication across services.

• Conduct in-depth technical analyses to refactor automation code in accordance with the evolving application architecture.

• Maintain automated performance testing as integral components of the continuous delivery pipeline.

• Perform root cause analysis on complex defects, providing detailed technical insights and reproduction scripts.

• Lead technical gap analyses to pinpoint untested code paths and enhance overall system testability.

• Collaborate with Development and Product teams to ensure that acceptance criteria are clear and technically sound.

• Take ownership of the technical scaling of automation solutions across multiple environments.

• Undertake special technical projects, such as upgrading test infrastructure or optimizing CI/CD workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Software Engineering and Test Automation with a demonstrated history of framework enhancement.

• Proven leadership skills in managing local team operations and offering technical mentorship to elevate coding standards.

• High proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, TypeScript, or C#) with an emphasis on clean, scalable code.

• Comprehensive understanding of modern architecture, including microservices, containerization (Docker), and cloud environments.

• Extensive experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Postman, or RestAssured.

• Solid background in performance engineering utilizing tools like k6, JMeter, or Locust.

• Advanced proficiency with CI/CD orchestration tools (Harness, BitBucket, or Jenkins) to streamline release cycles.

• Familiarity with cloud-based testing infrastructure like SauceLabs, BrowserStack, or AWS Device Farm.

• Excellent technical communication skills to convert quality risks into actionable engineering tasks.

• Advanced proficiency in Oral English.

• Advanced proficiency in Spanish.
