Scrum Master / Risk Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning sessions, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Provide coaching to the team on Scrum and SAFe methodologies.

• Identify and remove obstacles, escalating those that the team is unable to resolve.

• Assist in Planning Interval preparations, including managing dependencies and team commitments.

• Collaborate with other teams on shared or dependent projects.

• Monitor velocity, burndown, and commitment metrics to enhance team performance.

• Manage the backlog, board, and tools utilized by the team.

• Analyze risk data to pinpoint cost, schedule, and performance risks.

• Gather and verify risk data in coordination with the program team.

• Keep the risk register updated, including likelihood, impact, ownership, and mitigation strategies.

• Draft and present risk status updates for program leadership and customers.

• Oversee the tracking of mitigation actions until resolution and report on residual risks.

• Assist in managing issues and escalations when risks materialize.

• Compose risk sections of weekly and monthly reports as well as other deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master for a delivery team.

• Familiarity with SAFe Lean-Agile principles and practices.

• Experience in reviewing risk data and identifying potential risks related to cost, schedule, and performance.

• Competence in writing and presenting status reports for leadership.

• Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary VA Tier 1 / Public Trust background investigation.

• Certification as a ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is preferred.

• Preferred certifications include PMI-RMP, PMP, or similar.

• Experience in supporting VA, VHA, DoD, or other federal health programs is preferred.

• Background in electronic health record implementation or enhancement efforts is preferred.

• Proficiency with Jira or Azure DevOps, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint is preferred.

• Experience with government contract deliverables and reporting is preferred.
