
Scrum Master – Enterprise Agile Transformation, Scaled Agile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Act as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams that are cross-functional and focused on delivering enterprise software, digital products, ERP modernization, cloud transformation, data, AI, automation, or technology modernization projects.
• Facilitate key Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
• Guide teams towards becoming self-organizing, collaborative, accountable, and focused on sustainable delivery.
• Eliminate organizational, process, technical, and dependency-related obstacles.
• Shield teams from unnecessary disruptions, ambiguous priorities, and avoidable changes in scope.
• Help establish newly formed Agile teams by setting norms, working agreements, operating models, ceremonies, roles, and collaboration practices.
• Evaluate Agile maturity and implement customized coaching strategies.
• Mentor teams transitioning from Waterfall or hybrid methodologies to Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and product-centric approaches.
• Coach Product Owners on managing backlogs, prioritization, user story refinement, acceptance criteria, stakeholder engagement, and value-driven planning.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, delivery, QA, DevOps, architecture, security, PMO, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Define and establish standards for Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
• Provide guidance on Agile estimation, capacity planning, and forecasting.
• Support the adoption of scaled Agile practices across Agile Release Trains, value streams, product teams, and enterprise delivery organizations.
• Engage in Program Increment planning, cross-team planning, Scrum of Scrums, dependency discussions, risk assessments, and delivery alignment sessions.
• Assist with managing risks, dependencies, objectives, commitments, and impediments across teams.
• Facilitate portfolio planning, Lean Portfolio Management, Agile governance, product roadmap alignment, and value stream coordination.
• Advocate for iterative delivery over traditional project-driven methodologies.
• Support digital transformation initiatives encompassing cloud migration, ERP modernization, automation, data transformation, AI, integrations, and enterprise software implementations.
• Lead retrospectives and develop measurable improvement action plans.
• Monitor Agile delivery metrics and convert them into coaching opportunities and continuous improvement strategies.
• Identify delivery risks, escalate impediments, manage dependencies, and facilitate mitigation planning.
• Build Agile Communities of Practice and mentor junior Scrum Masters and Agile champions.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in Agile delivery, software delivery, project management, technology delivery, Agile coaching, or a related IT field within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
• More than 7 years of experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise settings, including simultaneous support for multiple Scrum teams.
• Proven experience in establishing new Agile teams, defining team norms, initiating ceremonies, creating working agreements, and guiding teams through development stages.
• Experience coaching mature Agile teams to enhance delivery performance, predictability, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in supporting enterprise-scale Agile transformations, scaled delivery models, product-centric operational frameworks, and complex digital transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, LeSS, Disciplined Agile, Agile Portfolio Management, Value Stream Management, Lean Portfolio Management, SDLC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps collaboration.
• Capability to coach Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Product Managers, Engineering Leaders, Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, stakeholders, and executives.
• Experience with Program Increment planning, Agile Release Train support, dependency management, cross-team coordination, Scrum of Scrums, portfolio planning, and enterprise delivery governance.
• Familiarity with SDLC practices, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, enterprise architecture, ERP implementations, data platforms, Business Intelligence, and enterprise modernization.
• Understanding of contemporary engineering practices, technical dependencies, quality assurance practices, release readiness, and operational transitions; hands-on software development experience is not required.
• Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, VersionOne, Confluence, Miro, Microsoft Teams, Slack, SharePoint, Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, including risk assessment, problem-solving, prioritization, decision facilitation, systems thinking, and delivery performance analysis.
• Excellent skills in facilitation, communication, active listening, negotiation, relationship building, stakeholder management, and executive presentations.
• Proven servant leadership, organizational influence, coaching and mentoring, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, consensus-building, and change leadership skills.
• Capacity to balance standardization and flexibility across Agile teams.
• Ability to work independently while influencing across teams and various leadership levels.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Organizational Leadership, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Willingness to travel as required.
