Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate agile ceremonies for the delivery team, including Planning Interval planning, iteration planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Ensure adherence to agile processes and practices while promoting Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values.

• Implement SAFe Lean-Agile principles and practices to deliver value and sustain organizational change and operational excellence.

• Support Agile Release Train operations with resources sourced from this requirement.

• Utilize lean-agile principles to adapt to changing expertise needs across Planning Intervals while preserving team stability and performance.

• Eliminate obstacles to delivery and escalate blockers that require intervention from the Program Manager or VHA.

• Maintain and refine the backlog in collaboration with informatics, change management, and communications workstreams.

• Monitor and report on iteration metrics, velocity, and delivery performance in accordance with the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.

• Coordinate dependencies across the seven ORIS service categories.

• Assist with the intake and triage of surge events into the delivery cadence without disrupting committed work.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• At least five (5) years of experience as a Scrum Master or agile team facilitator.

• Proven understanding of SAFe Lean-Agile principles and practices.

• Experience in facilitating agile ceremonies for technical or informatics delivery teams.

• Demonstrated capability to remove impediments and manage dependencies across teams.

• Experience working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities.

• Strong skills in facilitation, coaching, and both written and oral communication.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Low/NACI background investigation.

• Certification as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is preferred.

• Experience supporting an Agile Release Train or SAFe implementation at an enterprise level is preferred.

• Background in supporting VHA, EHRM, or similar federal health informatics programs is preferred.

• Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) deployment or post go-live operations is preferred.
