Scientific Applications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct pre-sales demonstrations of high-resolution ultrasound and photoacoustic equipment at the training facility in Toronto and at customer locations.

• Travel to trade shows, conferences, and workshops as a subject matter expert.

• Provide customer training on newly acquired equipment both at the Toronto facility and at customer sites.

• Offer pre-installation and post-installation application support.

• Address and resolve issues related to customer satisfaction.

• Present product, application, and development information at customer locations, conferences, workshops, and virtually.

• Gather user feedback for product development projects.

• Assist in the evaluation of new products and work in collaboration with Product Management.

• Create procedure manuals, training protocols, and scientific documentation.

• Build partnerships with research laboratories, develop protocols, and conduct experiments.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of VisualSonics products and their applications.

• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing teams.

• Provide technical support and ensure customers are well-informed about the use and advantages of VisualSonics technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in a relevant scientific field is preferred, or equivalent experience.

• Significant experience in preclinical imaging, particularly with ultrasound and photoacoustic technologies.

• Strong technical background with the capacity to convey complex scientific ideas to various audiences.

• Excellent understanding of small animal anatomy and physiology.

• In-depth knowledge of oncology, cardiology, and neurobiology.

• Solid understanding of genetics and molecular biology.

• Proficiency in imaging software and analytical tools.

• Willingness and capability to travel frequently, including occasional international trips.

• A valid driver's license and passport are required.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English.

• Strong presentation abilities.

• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

• Excellent scientific writing capabilities and sound business acumen.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional skills in prioritization and organization.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
