Scientific Affairs Manager – Germany, North East

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Act as the Scientific Affairs Manager for the designated territory in Germany.

• Formulate and execute the strategically aligned plan for Local Medical Affairs.

• Serve as the main contact for external experts and stakeholders in Germany.

• Engage in scientific discussions with external experts while providing clinical, scientific, and medical education.

• Act as a scientific peer-to-peer resource for medical information and setmelanotide.

• Analyze patient journeys, diagnoses, and therapeutic trends.

• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with pertinent external experts.

• Initiate local genetic testing initiatives in collaboration with healthcare professionals and obesity treatment networks.

• Work alongside Global Clinical Development and Operations on clinical trial investigators, investigator meetings, and advisory boards.

• Assist in the execution of clinical trials and address the needs of investigators.

• Manage clinical study issues for prompt cross-functional resolution.

• Identify and educate referral sites and investigators to enhance trial enrollment.

• Create and implement a scientific communication strategy for setmelanotide.

• Contribute to the medical and scientific review of manuscripts and communication materials.

• Analyze scientific data and adapt it to meet educational and research requirements.

• Review scientific communication platforms, medical information resources, medical education materials, and marketing content for compliance with German regulations.

• Provide insights for medical colleague training initiatives and assist in designing informative medical presentations.

• Articulate the medical value of the asset to both internal and external audiences.

• Collaborate across departments including Marketing, Regulatory, Drug Safety, Market Access, and Research & Development.

• Recognize knowledge gaps among healthcare professionals and facilitate non-promotional scientific presentations.

• Engage in local medical and cross-functional initiatives and projects.

• Ensure compliant communication among internal stakeholders.

• Address unsolicited medical information inquiries with precise, fair-balanced responses.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in a pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical field (PharmD, PhD, MD).

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or comparable field-facing role, with a strong preference for expertise in field-based scientific exchange within biopharmaceutical or rare disease domains.

• Relevant experience in pharmaceuticals and clinical/therapeutic areas will be considered.

• Exceptional communication skills and scientific proficiency in presenting clinical and disease-state information to diverse audiences.

• Proficient in the local language for Germany.

• Fluent in both verbal and written English.

• Understanding of regional and local healthcare systems, the evolving medical landscape, reimbursement frameworks, and industry trends.

• Legally authorized to work in Germany.

• Currently residing in Germany.
