This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and evaluate SCADA system architectures for extensive energy facilities functioning within ERCOT and other ISOs.
• Create scalable standards for data mapping, alarm management, HMI development, and configuration management.
• Ensure the integrity of documentation and version control throughout project and fleet implementations.
• Develop and troubleshoot SCADA-integrated control logic, encompassing PPC interfaces, active and reactive dispatch, Volt/VAR optimization, and frequency response.
• Coordinate control strategies for multi-fuel plants to guarantee seamless operational efficiency.
• Integrate plant controls with third-party optimization and asset performance management systems.
• Oversee CHIL, FAT, SAT, and on-site commissioning activities to confirm performance and grid readiness.
• Manage the implementation of ERCOT nodal protocols, telemetry standards, and performance validation processes.
• Collaborate with ERCOT, TSPs, OEMs, and vendors to ensure effective telemetry and control system integration.
• Work with Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams to diagnose and resolve control system challenges.
• Provide technical leadership during grid compliance and commissioning initiatives.
• Cultivate strong working relationships with ERCOT stakeholders, TSPs, OEMs, EPCs, and SCADA vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in utility-scale power generation, independent power production, or clean energy infrastructure.
• Direct experience supporting large-scale power plants operating in ERCOT or comparable nodal markets.
• Proven expertise in SCADA system architecture design and evaluation for utility-scale facilities.
• Practical experience with Power Plant Controller integration, dispatch logic, Volt/VAR optimization, and frequency response controls.
• Experience in troubleshooting PLCs and SEL-RTAC systems.
• Demonstrated success in leading grid compliance testing, telemetry validation, and commissioning processes.
• Strong understanding of ERCOT nodal protocols, TSP coordination, and grid interconnection standards.
• Experience with integrating SCADA systems with third-party optimization and performance management platforms.
• Willingness to travel to project locations during construction and commissioning phases.
• Strong documentation discipline and configuration management practices.
• Established connections with ERCOT stakeholders, TSPs, OEMs, EPCs, or SCADA vendors are highly advantageous.
• Detail-oriented, systems-focused mindset with the ability to lead troubleshooting efforts while collaborating across functions.
