SAP EWM, IM Functional Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Interact directly with business stakeholders to collect, document, and validate business requirements.

• Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Design Documents (FDDs), and Configuration Design Documents (CDDs) for Inventory Management (IM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) scope.

• Perform fit-gap analyses between warehouse/inventory operations and the standard capabilities of SAP S/4HANA.

• Establish functional designs for inbound, outbound, internal, and inventory-counting processes.

• Design integration touchpoints for SAP EWM/IM with third-party systems.

• Configure SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM, which includes warehouse structures, putaway and stock removal strategies, wave management, resource and queue management, replenishment rules, and RF/mobile transactions.

• Configure SAP S/4HANA IM, encompassing plant/storage locations, movement types, goods receipt/issue, physical inventory, batch management, and stock transfers.

• Set up IM-to-EWM integration, which includes distribution models, RFC connectivity, logical systems, and qRFC queues.

• Design and configure interfaces with third-party systems, including message formats, mappings, transformations, error handling, and monitoring.

• Develop and execute Functional Unit Testing (FUT) scripts and support FUT, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles.

• Investigate and address functional defects, data issues, and integration failures.

• Validate end-to-end warehouse processes on RF/mobile devices.

• Oversee functional interface design for file-based, API-based, and IDoc/middleware integrations.

• Define procedures for interface validation, exception handling, notifications, rerun, and recovery.

• Collaborate on the design of SAP Integration Suite iFlows, including message mapping and monitoring.

• Assist with technical specifications for ABAP, CDS views, OData services, and enhancements.

• Define migration requirements and facilitate warehouse master data and inventory stock loading.

• Perform reconciliation procedures to ensure migration completeness and accuracy.

• Participate in cutover planning, dress rehearsals, go-live execution, and hypercare support.

• Coordinate onshore/offshore teams, monitor risks and dependencies, and engage in governance forums.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 9 years of functional experience with SAP EWM.

• At least one complete S/4HANA implementation or migration from ECC to S/4HANA.

• Extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM configuration, including warehouse structure, process types, putaway/picking strategies, wave management, RF framework, and resource management.

• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Inventory Management, covering goods movements, stock types, batch management, physical inventory, and material valuation.

• Proven experience in designing and supporting interfaces between SAP and third-party systems such as WMS, field mobility, work order management, and transportation systems.

• Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft, or SAP PI/PO middleware for interface design.

• Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to author BRDs, FDDs, CDDs, and FUT scripts.

• Experience in large-scale program environments involving multiple workstreams, offshore/onshore delivery models, and formal governance.
