SAP Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and sustain SAP solutions utilizing ABAP, which includes custom reports, workflows, enhancements, and integrations.

• Convert business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions within SAP, emphasizing SAP SD processes.

• Design and uphold dependable SAP data extraction and integration pipelines using ODP, CDS Views, and OData, while utilizing Data Sphere as an endpoint or intermediary.

• Support SAP data integration with the wider data platform, encompassing SAP Datasphere and cloud-based data environments.

• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, data engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external SAP partners to deliver solutions and address complex challenges.

• Assume responsibility for SAP technical issues, document solutions, and contribute to building in-house SAP capabilities, thereby decreasing reliance on external partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be taken into account.

• Over 4 years of practical experience in SAP ABAP development.

• In-depth knowledge of ABAP programming and SAP development methodologies.

• Experience in developing and supporting SAP customizations within an enterprise setting.

• Familiarity with at least one SAP functional module; experience with SAP SD is highly preferred.

• Proven ability to collaborate with functional consultants and convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Experience with SAP data extraction and integration methods such as ODP, CDS Views, and OData.

• Proficient in SAP ERP data structures, tables, and their interrelations.

• Experience with SAP interfaces and integrations with external systems.

• Familiarity with SAP Datasphere or similar SAP data/integration technologies is highly desirable.

• Strong SQL abilities and a solid understanding of data engineering principles.

• Experience with Python and/or cloud data platforms is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to independently investigate intricate SAP issues.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA RISE.

• Experience with SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Data Services (BODS), or SAP BTP.

• Experience with SAP Integration Suite / CPI.

• Experience in constructing data pipelines for cloud data warehouses or data lakes.

• Experience with AWS, Redshift, Airflow, Spark/PySpark, or comparable data engineering technologies.

• SAP ABAP or relevant SAP certifications.

• Experience working with external SAP implementation or managed-service partners.

• Experience mentoring engineers or taking technical ownership of SAP projects.
