SAP BI/BW Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist in the prototyping, testing, and implementation of data and AI use cases utilizing Databricks, SAP Business AI, AWS, Azure, or other cloud AI services.

• Help build and integrate AI functionalities using LLM APIs, custom API connectors like MCP, and retrieval workflows.

• Engage in data acquisition, cleansing, transformation, and mapping for analytical reporting and AI applications within both SAP and non-SAP environments.

• Assess data sources and design foundational ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Conduct data preparation and develop business rules.

• Recognize and automate repetitive data workflows, testing tasks, and monitoring scripts through Python and SQL.

• Generate and maintain technical documentation for integrations and applications.

• Attend to incidents, requests, and operational activities in alignment with standard ITSM lifecycles.

• Participate in on-call rotations for critical operational incidents and data pipeline challenges.

• Undertake additional related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, software development, or data analytics with practical exposure to modern data platforms.

• Proficient in writing clean Python code, consuming REST APIs, and working with contemporary AI frameworks.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team on a global scale.

• Strong eagerness to learn enterprise systems like SAP and to innovate new solutions.

• Preferred degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Desired Master's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline from an accredited university.

• Must have strong expertise in Python, including Pandas and API integration, as well as complex SQL queries.

• Must possess practical experience with Databricks, PySpark, or comparable cloud data platforms.

• Must have experience working with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Azure OpenAI, or in building API-driven integrations/prototypes.

• Desirable to have basic knowledge of SAP data structures or tools such as SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, CDS views, or SAP Business AI.

• Desirable to have exposure to Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts or orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LlamaIndex.

• Desirable to have familiarity with traditional BI reporting tools like SAP BOBJ, Power BI, or SAP Analytics Cloud.
