Salesforce, GTM Applications Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the Salesforce CPQ domain from start to finish, encompassing product configuration, bundles, pricing rules, discount logic, quote templates, approval workflows, renewals, amendments, and resolution of quote-to-cash issues.

• Act as the principal subject matter expert and decision-maker for the design of CPQ processes, platform standards, and the roadmap for future development.

• Utilize strong technical judgment across Salesforce and interconnected GTM systems to decide on the appropriate use of Apex, Flow, managed package functionalities, APIs, middleware, or custom development to address business challenges.

• Identify areas of process friction, technical debt, and operational risk throughout the revenue lifecycle, driving enhancements that boost efficiency and minimize manual effort.

• Create scalable business system solutions by employing the right combination of declarative configuration, platform automation, integrations, and custom development.

• Lead or assist in intricate Salesforce configurations and enhancements, which include custom objects, fields, flows, validation rules, approvals, record types, permissions, page layouts, and improvements to user experience.

• Assess when to employ low-code versus coded solutions, taking into account reliability, supportability, performance, security, and ease of management.

• Convert business requirements into sustainable system solutions, connecting technical and business stakeholders to ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and practical for end users.

• Facilitate integrations and data flows between Salesforce and all pertinent GTM and operational application systems.

• Comprehend and troubleshoot data movement across systems, including mapping logic, source-of-truth decisions, synchronization behavior, and downstream consequences.

• Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to address integration challenges, enhance data reliability, and reduce failure points among connected systems.

• Oversee system-related projects from initiation through discovery, design, construction, testing, documentation, deployment, and post-launch support.

• Assist with testing strategies, sandbox validation, release preparedness, production monitoring, and issue resolution for system modifications.

• Support or coordinate technical operations involving Flow, Apex, SOQL, Lightning components, APIs, middleware, and third-party tools as necessary.

• Create and maintain documentation for system design, configuration standards, process flows, test plans, release notes, and support protocols.

• Work closely with Sales, Finance, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, Marketing, Legal, and leadership to gather requirements and align solutions with business objectives.

• Lead through influence across teams, clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions, surfacing tradeoffs, and promoting sound decision-making.

• Clearly communicate priorities, risks, solution alternatives, and implementation impacts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders regarding GTM system capabilities, limitations, governance, and best practices.

• Assist with change management, training, and adoption initiatives to ensure teams understand new processes and utilize the platform effectively.

• Stay updated on Salesforce platform capabilities, GTM system trends, automation patterns, integration strategies, AI-enabled tools and functionalities, and relevant best practices.

• Leverage technical expertise and business context to assess new tools, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities that streamline GTM processes, reduce manual tasks, enhance decision-making, improve system sustainability, and bolster GTM efficiency and effectiveness.

• Contribute to the overall Salesforce and business systems strategy by identifying opportunities to simplify the stack, enhance supportability, and reinforce business continuity.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Salesforce administration, business systems, revenue operations, or Salesforce solution delivery roles.

• At least 3 years of direct experience owning or managing revenue systems, including Salesforce CPQ, within a complex B2B SaaS or similarly complicated commercial setting.

• Strong comprehension of Salesforce CPQ principles, including product and pricing logic, pricing workflows, approval frameworks, and operations related to renewals and amendments.

• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects that necessitate collaboration among technical and business teams.

• Established ability to independently evaluate ambiguous business or system issues, recommend practical solutions, and implement them with minimal oversight.

• Required Technical and Functional Skills

• Extensive expertise in revenue systems administration and configuration, covering product setup, pricing rules, quote templates, approvals, guided selling, renewals, and amendments.

• Strong knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including security models, data model design, automation architecture, integration patterns, and scalable configuration methodologies.

• Technical fluency across no-code, low-code, managed package, integration, and custom solution options, with the capability to recommend the best approach after evaluating options and trade-offs.

• Solid understanding of how GTM systems, data, and controls support the entire revenue lifecycle, including quoting, contracting, renewals, billing transitions, and related processes.

• Experience collaborating with vendors and business stakeholders to define requirements, assess solution options, and deliver and support scalable business systems.

• Capability to make pragmatic technical decisions that balance business urgency, system scalability, data integrity, and integration impacts with long-term maintainability, supportability, and governance.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification or extensive hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ.

• Salesforce Platform App Builder, Advanced Administrator, or Developer 1 certification.

• Experience facilitating integrations, data flows, and business processes across Salesforce and connected systems, including ERP, billing, contract management, sales, customer tools, or other GTM applications.

• Background in SaaS, subscription revenue, or high-growth operational environments.

• Familiarity with AI-enabled workflow design, process automation, or business systems optimization initiatives.
