This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the onboarding process from the moment a client signs up until completion. Create and manage onboarding timelines, monitor dependencies, and proactively eliminate obstacles to ensure project momentum. Maintain accountability for both clients and internal teams through clear expectations and consistent, professional follow-ups.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients during the onboarding phase. Simplify complex sales tax and data concepts into straightforward, actionable insights. Establish clear expectations, offer guidance, and ensure clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their journey.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (including tax settings, filing, etc.) to guarantee that dependencies are comprehended, tasks are organized correctly, and transitions occur punctually. Serve as the definitive source of truth regarding onboarding status and subsequent actions.
• Examine large and often intricate transaction datasets using Excel to comprehend how client data navigates through systems. Produce clear, practical mapping notes that describe how the client’s transactions should be categorized for tax collection and filing. Work with internal teams to implement those mappings in our tools and identify gaps or inconsistencies in the data for prompt resolution.
• Analyze sales tax-related findings and convey their broader implications to clients from a consultative perspective. Although you won’t conduct nexus analyses, you will assist clients in understanding outcomes, obligations, and decisions in collaboration with other teams.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the onboarding experience and internal processes. Share ideas, document insights, and assist in refining workflows to make onboarding smoother, quicker, and more scalable over time.
• 1-2 years of experience in project coordination, accounting, sales tax, and/or research.
• Experience in managing projects or processes with multiple components, deadlines, and dependencies (formal project management experience is not mandatory).
• Excellent references from previous supervisors.
• Proficiency in handling complex, data-intensive spreadsheets (Excel skills are required).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Sales tax experience or education is an advantage but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
• Target annual compensation - $65,000.
• 43 days off each year, which includes 22 holidays and 21 PTO days. Yes, you read that correctly.
• 3 additional days off per year to volunteer with a non-profit organization of your choice.
• The company covers 100% of health, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance, and 99% of dental and vision insurance.
• 401(k) Plan with generous company matching. We match 100% of contributions up to 3%, and an additional 50% match on contributions between 4-5%.
• 100% remote work with core working hours of 11 AM - 4 PM EST.
• Opportunity to participate in the company profit-sharing program starting the year after your hire date (contingent upon passing a financial literacy quiz).
