This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Achieve or surpass designated sales quotas through effective management of territory and pipeline.
• Develop and implement a strategic business development plan that outlines necessary activities to meet territory objectives.
• Provide consultative, content-driven, and practice-based pre-sales support to clients within the assigned territory.
• Identify and cultivate new acquisition opportunities through networking, prospecting, and building relationships.
• Increase revenue in existing accounts by fostering multi-level relationships and identifying additional needs.
• Navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers and influencers effectively.
• Progress opportunities through the complete sales cycle, including negotiation and closure.
• Participate in and assist with RFP processes as required.
• Deliver professional sales and informational presentations to districts, organizations, and stakeholder groups.
• Keep accurate records of activities, pipeline status, and forecasting data in Salesforce.
• Generate timely and precise forecasts and sales reports as needed.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local funding sources that are relevant to K–12 education.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Pearson School Assessment products, competitive offerings, industry trends, and the assigned territory.
• Bachelor’s degree in school psychology, education, school administration, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Over 5 years of successful sales experience with a proven history of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Experience in selling to executive-level decision-makers across various departments in K–12 education.
• Preferred established relationships with district-level leaders (e.g., Superintendents, Special Education Directors) within the assigned territory.
• Strong skills in business development, negotiation, and closing.
• Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong capabilities in time and territory management.
• Experience with Salesforce is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Comfortable working in a largely independent, virtual team environment.
• This position qualifies for participation in a sales incentive plan.
