This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• This role involves managing accounts while actively pursuing new prospects to boost sales and profitability.
• Accountable for driving sales growth initiatives through a deep understanding of products and customers to pinpoint opportunities for expanding existing product lines and introducing new ones, thus enhancing sales and profits in the region.
• Direct sales to accounts within the designated territory.
• Forge new customer relationships while retaining existing ones.
• Provide technical assistance for chemical applications to both current and prospective customers.
• Conduct assessments of customer needs to foster additional business opportunities.
• Enhance territory profitability through effective pricing strategies and the introduction of additional products or increased quantities of current offerings.
• Keep upper management updated on competitive developments within the territory.
• Prepare monthly reports and market summaries for the assigned territory.
• Contribute to the development of the annual strategic plan for the territory.
• Carry out onsite product testing and selection for swimming pool applications, as well as municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Support trade organizations by engaging in professional training seminars.
• Execute plant trials for potable water and wastewater applications.
• Troubleshoot customer systems and provide recommendations for performance enhancements.
• Assist customers in making recommendations for scale and corrosion treatment in potable water systems.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the municipal and/or industrial chemical sector is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel is required).
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on service.
• Strong attention to detail, conceptual thinking, and organizational skills, along with flexibility and perception.
• Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Excellent negotiation skills are required.
• A valid driver's license in good standing is necessary.
• Must possess strong relationship-building skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively with both internal and external customers and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, along with attention to detail, are crucial.
• A proactive attitude with an internal drive to follow through is essential.
• Demonstrated initiative, the ability to work independently, and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines is required.
