This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• As a key member of a regional sales team, you will have the chance to take ownership of your territory, manage the complete sales lifecycle, and establish new business relationships that introduce Newsela’s solutions into classrooms.
• Be responsible for crafting territory business plans, assessing funding landscapes, and customizing sales strategies to align with district objectives.
• Besides meeting your own revenue targets, you will collaborate with a dedicated, cross-functional team to accelerate Newsela’s growth as we expand our national sales organization.
• Engage directly with school and district leaders, showcasing solutions, negotiating terms, and finalizing agreements that integrate Newsela into classrooms.
• Have a tangible impact on the growth and adoption of Newsela products, ultimately enhancing Newsela’s capacity to deliver engaging, culturally responsive learning content to K-12 classrooms across the nation.
• Excel in a position that demands considerable autonomy, representing the company in the marketplace, making strategic recommendations, and independently managing priorities.
• Utilize discretion and independent judgment on significant matters, including assessing customer needs, crafting tailored solutions, negotiating within set parameters, and influencing revenue and business outcomes.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience achieving or surpassing large sales quotas in the K-12 EdTech sector is required.
• Experience selling K-12 EdTech specifically in Texas is preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous experience as an ELA or Social Studies teacher/instructional coach (or a deep understanding of K-12 pedagogy) is preferred to effectively relate classroom challenges to the solutions Newsela is developing.
• Proven track record as a strategic territory manager with the executive presence to lead consultative discussions with districts, navigate multiple stakeholders, and devise the right solutions for each customer.
• Background in high-volume district sales, with demonstrated experience in building a book of business from the ground up.
• A self-motivated individual with a strong ability to drive sales quickly to closure and excel in a dynamic environment.
• Highly organized, adaptable to change, a quick learner who maintains high service standards and meets established sales goals in an agile setting.
• Enthusiastic about opportunities for face-to-face interactions with customers and prospects. Travel is estimated at around 25%, based on business and customer requirements.
• Willing to work flexible hours to accommodate customer and business needs; most accounts are located in Eastern and Central time zones.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
