This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.
• Organize, develop, and lead quarterly business reviews.
• Create medium to long-term sales strategies to safeguard, enhance, and diversify relationships with a specified group of customers.
• Design and execute a strategic roadmap for customer growth, focusing on acquiring new business and fostering customer dependencies.
• Actively seek additional sales opportunities and drive them to successful completion.
• Connect with customer contacts to kick-start the contract renewal process and ensure timely contract renewals.
• Track competitive activities within each account and devise appropriate response strategies to communicate.
• Independently and persistently address issues to guarantee high-quality customer service.
• Ensure customer profitability by sustaining or enhancing customer margins through coordinated efforts with Sales Operations and other departments (securing customer approvals on substitutes/alternatives, implementing necessary price adjustments, etc.).
• Maintain precise records for sales pipeline, prospects, customer information, and communication logs within the CRM system.
• Assist in managing all aspects of contractual obligations, including but not limited to excess and obsolete inventory, value-added/value-engineered initiatives, cost savings documentation, pricing/material index reviews, inventory reductions, and minimizing expenses.
• Cultivate relationships with mid-level clients (e.g., Purchasing Manager) and build rapport with senior clients (e.g., Purchasing Director, C-Suite, etc.).
• Support customer implementations and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial sales, with relevant products and/or within a related industry.
• Valid Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience in project management and/or onboarding new customers is a plus.
• High standards of professionalism and ethics.
• A collaborative, teamwork-oriented approach with a humble attitude.
• Ability to assess complex business situations and devise innovative, business-focused solutions.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing and directing one’s own schedule.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, blueprint, or schedule formats.
• Strong listening and interpersonal abilities, along with exceptional negotiation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in speaking before groups of customers and employees.
• Well-developed persuasion, sales, and presentation skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in high-pressure environments.
• Comfortable and efficient with data analysis, graphs, statistics, percentages, and ratios.
• Willingness to travel, estimated at up to 60%.
