This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Establish customer connections at various levels including research, application development, supply chain, and marketing with both current and prospective clients.

• Effectively develop applications for products and services.

• Investigate customer requirements and enhance the application of the company's offerings by: collecting and coordinating data and insights from internal and external stakeholders and member groups, compiling lists of potential customers, maintaining a current understanding of industry trends and technical advancements impacting target customers and markets, and identifying market strategies and objectives for each client that align products and services with their strategic goals.

• Create and present sales pitches while effectively closing sales by: formulating sales proposals for customers regarding technical products and services, developing technical presentations and workshops, staying informed about industry trends and government regulations, conducting regular sales visits to cultivate relationships and follow up on leads, fostering long-term relationships, attending trade shows throughout the year to showcase the product portfolio and initiate project initiatives, achieving established sales quotas and revenue targets, and resolving product and service-related issues.

• Engage in sales forecasting, planning, and CRM management in a timely and effective manner by: researching, creating, and maintaining long- and short-term sales and marketing strategies, staying current with strategic plans and procedures for coordinating market initiatives, and monitoring, analyzing, and reporting monthly sales data to contribute to product and service planning.

• Contribute to the development of new products and modifications of existing ones in a professional manner by: suggesting new technical products and modifications or discontinuations, collecting, analyzing, and sharing customer feedback and technical information, collaborating with team members to identify future customer requirements, gauging customer satisfaction with products and services, and maintaining a thorough understanding of emerging technologies and manufacturing practices.

• Foster and maintain communication in a professional and collaborative manner with all staff and customers by: engaging in open, honest, and constructive dialogue, treating all employees and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy, and taking responsibility to resolve communication and trust-related concerns.

• Develop and manage databases related to research data, including product formulations, analytical and sensory data, and other project-related information within the company CRM system. Provide technical support and maintain programs that facilitate information analysis. Participate in technical discussions with potential clients, conduct demonstrations and presentations. Stay informed about trends and developments in the sweetener industry. Keep management updated on all activities, including timely report preparation. Guide complex problem-solving efforts and engage directly with customers as necessary. Identify opportunities for process improvements in customer operations through communication, programs, and other initiatives, and work collaboratively with customers to implement enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, a technical field, or business discipline with at least 7-10 years of experience in a sales position within the flavor or food ingredient sectors.

• Technical expertise in sweetener formulation.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.

• Proficient in organizing and utilizing CRM database systems.

• Skilled in using email, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, well-developed presentation capabilities, and excellent customer relations skills.

• Comprehensive knowledge of target market industries.

• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.

• Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes.

• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
