This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with industrial clients to collect operational requirements and devise suitable control system architectures.
• Create estimates for comprehensive integration solutions, which encompass engineering, control panel fabrication, desktop HMI, PLC programming, field installation, and commissioning.
• Analyze proposal specifications and drawings to prepare estimates for industrial electrical projects.
• Estimate costs for new constructions and retrofit upgrades.
• Recognize opportunities to upgrade aging industrial infrastructure and transition legacy PLC platforms.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to verify take-offs.
• Prepare project take-offs, submittals, and proposals.
• Solicit vendor quotes for equipment and materials, including PLC and HMI hardware/software.
• Complete documents required by clients punctually.
• Draft detailed scope inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates.
• Identify and fulfill customer needs and requirements.
• Engage with employees, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of estimates and supplier pricing records.
• Provide support to personnel in other departments, including estimates in different disciplines.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• At least 5 years of experience in the industrial electrical sector.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating.
• Journeyman Electrician license is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
• Strong functional understanding of various PLC platforms and industrial networks.
• Capability to conceptualize and specify complete PLC/HMI hardware and software solutions based on limited customer input.
• A background in automation and controls, including PLCs, instrumentation, valves, mechanical control panels, and electrical control panels is advantageous.
• Familiarity with NECA rates and structures.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA-70E standards.
• Understanding of material quoting, RFQs, and vendor relationships.
• Ability to address or escalate specification conflicts and inaccuracies in drawings.
• Experience with estimating/installing electrical raceway, including cable tray, EMT, rigid, IMC, and plastibond, along with associated fittings and appurtenances.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and automation construction drawings, wiring details, installation details, P&IDs, layout drawings, panel drawings, and BOMs.
• Capability to interpret complex construction specifications related to electrical, automation, and control mechanical means and methods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, and advanced/expert Accubid.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, owners, and specialty equipment suppliers to clarify scopes and necessary materials/equipment.
