
Sales Engineer – Data Center Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical lead during tenant interactions and sales initiatives.
• Convert tenant business goals into technical infrastructure solutions.
• Facilitate technical discussions with tenant representatives, SMEs, engineers, and executives.
• Collect current and future infrastructure requirements, including growth forecasts, rack densities, and potential expansion sites.
• Identify requirements that deviate from WWMC standards early in the sales process.
• Assist in designing standard and customized data center solutions encompassing space, power, cooling, connectivity, security, and BMS/EPMS disciplines.
• Create technical proposal narratives and support pricing and commercial proposals.
• Manage technical responses for RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, due diligence questionnaires, compliance matrices, and assessments on security, sustainability, and AI infrastructure.
• Coordinate technical responses among Engineering, Operations, Construction, Product, and Legal teams.
• Confirm technical feasibility prior to tenant commitments.
• Oversee tenant qualification documents, performance requirements exhibits, capability matrices, and technical due diligence checklists.
• Assess inventory, campus expansion strategies, power availability, cooling capacity, phased growth, and reservation planning.
• Formulate solution pricing assumptions and verify technical costs.
• Assist in contract and lease negotiations and review tenant modifications impacting technical commitments.
• Support large-scale hyperscale, neoscaler, AI/HPC, GPU, high-density compute, and multi-region deployments.
• Aid in post-contract technical kickoffs, phase transitions, design validation, onboarding, deployment planning, change management, issue resolution, and expansion strategies.
• Track competitor offerings and emerging technologies, providing feedback on products and go-to-market strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in data center design, construction, or operations.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in data center design, construction, commissioning, or operations, presales engineering, or a similar technical role involving tenant interactions.
• Previous experience with a data center builder, developer, or colocation provider directly supporting hyperscale, neoscaler, or AI tenants.
• Experience in supporting hyperscale, neoscaler, and AI or HPC tenant deployments, along with current-generation GPU platforms.
• Proficient understanding of UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS, STS systems, and PDUs.
• Proficient understanding of CRAH, CRAC, fan walls, chillers, cooling towers, chilled-water loops, CDUs, and D2C liquid cooling.
• Capability to read and annotate electrical and mechanical single-line diagrams and floor plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in presenting to tenant executives, architects, and technical stakeholders.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• PE license is preferred.
• Data center industry certification is preferred, such as CDCP, CDCS, CDCDP, or ATD.
• Experience with direct-to-chip liquid cooling is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and FedRAMP is preferred.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ANSI/TIA 942, BICSI, ASHRAE, and NFPA is preferred.
