This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Deliver solutions to meet customer needs in packaging automation while expanding sales to both existing and new clients.
• Assist technical operations in crafting automation solutions that involve MULTIVAC Automations Group and external suppliers.
• Offer direction for project management services in automation for customers who outsource these tasks.
• Educate and mentor the sales team on how to identify Systems & Automation business opportunities.
• Promote the sales of MULTIVAC robotic systems and packaging products across food and non-food sectors.
• Research, develop, and validate automation offerings along with networks of third-party suppliers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, MULTIVAC Germany, suppliers, and Project Managers to ensure acceptance and payment for automated lines and equipment.
• Train and create resources for Regional Sales Managers and Sales Directors to better qualify and sell robotic systems and tailored automation modules.
• Design, propose, and sell automation systems for strategically chosen, low-risk, high-reward projects.
• Enhance customer value, reduce project risks, and generate additional revenue for MULTIVAC USA.
• Build strategic relationships with suppliers, secure nondisclosure agreements, and negotiate purchasing terms and conditions.
• Define project User Requirement Specifications (URS) with clear performance criteria for Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
• Operate within the designated annual expense budget.
• Participate in trade shows, sales meetings, and other company events.
• Collaborate with management to ensure adequate resources are estimated and allocated to each project.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in creating, planning, and executing automated systems projects.
• Experience in conceptual development, including material handling, robotics applications, and relevant connections to upstream and downstream operations.
• Capability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical publications, financial statements, and legal documents.
• Ability to address inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and the business community.
• Competence in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Proficiency in applying basic algebra and geometry.
• Skill in identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Aptitude for interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and managing abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Required proficiency in CAD for the precise production of 2D system layouts.
• Experience with SolidWorks is an advantage.
• Possession of a current valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a passport for travel as needed for the role.
• Capability to work near moving mechanical components and occasionally in wet, humid, cold, and hot environments.
• Ability to function in an occasionally noisy setting.
• Travel up to 75% of the time.
