This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Take ownership of the technical sales process across the APAC region, managing everything from initial discovery to proof-of-concept, technical validation, and closing deals.
• Conduct engaging product demonstrations, in-depth technical discussions, and proof-of-concept activities that highlight TrueNAS' capabilities and unique offerings.
• Collaborate with potential and existing clients to identify their infrastructure challenges, storage needs, and business goals, then design tailored solutions.
• Work closely with Account Executives and the Director of Sales to create and implement deal strategies for significant opportunities throughout the region.
• Train and support channel partners and resellers with technical knowledge, joint customer interactions, and demonstration assistance, particularly in India, Malaysia, and Singapore, where channel ecosystems are vital.
• Address RFPs, RFIs, and technical inquiries with precise, persuasive, and accurate information.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape (including NetApp, Dell, Pure Storage, Synology, etc.) and confidently communicate TrueNAS' unique advantages.
• Act as the internal advocate for APAC customers by sharing market insights, feature requests, and competitive intelligence with Product and Engineering teams.
• Create and contribute to presentations, solution briefs, case studies, and other sales materials specifically designed for APAC audiences.
• Offer post-sale technical support and advice to ensure customer satisfaction and promote growth opportunities.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area is preferred.
• At least four years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting within enterprise IT infrastructure, storage, or related technologies is highly desirable.
• Candidates with 2–4 years of experience who exhibit exceptional technical expertise and independence will also be considered.
• Strong preference for experience in selling to or supporting APAC markets.
• Familiarity with open-source storage, NAS/SAN, ZFS, or data center infrastructure is a considerable advantage.
• A solid technical background in enterprise storage (NAS/SAN), ZFS, networking fundamentals, virtualization (VMware, Proxmox), and cloud/hybrid integration.
• Proven experience in pre-sales or sales engineering, ideally focused on enterprise IT infrastructure, data storage, or data center technologies.
• Ability to navigate diverse business cultures across APAC, from the direct, transactional style typical in ANZ to the relationship-oriented, consultative approach preferred in India, Singapore, and Malaysia.
• Proficiency in Mandarin or other APAC languages is an advantage, especially for engaging with Chinese-speaking business communities in Singapore and Malaysia.
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and collaboration tools.
